Named for the ancient Native American V-shaped fish traps still visible in the river below — where history runs beneath your feet and the Coosawattee runs through your days.
The Park
Fish Trap Park carries a name earned by the landscape itself — the Native American 'V' fish trap designs cut into the river stones beneath are still visible today, a quiet reminder of how long this river has been central to life in these mountains.
As Coosawattee's largest camping and day-use area, Fish Trap Park offers twenty-six tent sites and six RV sites with full hookups, a sweeping pavilion perfect for reunions and weddings, children's play areas, and the only swinging suspension bridge in the resort — which connects directly to the Riverside Pool Center.
